Park Management:

Issues:
Curently, the park is without clear mangement zones, which is leading to problems in a balaced management intervention.
Lack of zoning is leading to potentioal user conflicts, such as domestic elephant grazing and visitor traffic within biologically unique and fragile sites.

Strategy:
Create three management zones for CNP the core zone, utility zone and management facility zone.

Activities:
* Survey and demarcated the park management zones.
* Classify park into ecologically compatible zones and prepare GIS maps
* Based on the land use map define management needs and land use policies.
* Constitute three management zones with the following definitions:

» Core Zone: The core shall include all the parts besides the utility and management facility zone to preserve, protect and maintain natural ecocystem and processes in their natural state. No human activity expect reserch and monotoring shall be allowed in this zone.

» Utility Zone: In the utility zone, the locations for hotel and campsites shall be designated along with the sites for visitor center, museum, as well as routes for jungle drive, elephant ride, nature walk grass and thatch cutting areas, religious sites etc.

» Management Facilitiy zone includes park headquarter, sectoral headquarter and park posts, protection unit headquarters and posts, road and fireline networks watch towers, etc.

» Grassland habitat conservation
» Wetland habitat conservation
» Forest habitat conservation
» Wildlife species conservation
» Cultural heritage conservation
